Wexford Science Festival

Science Week is a week-long event in Ireland each November, celebrating science in our everyday lives. Science Week includes a wide variety of events involving industry, colleges, schools, libraries, teachers, researchers and students throughout Ireland.

Wexford Science Festival (WexSci) is the regional celebration of national Science Week offering a range of opportunities for the public to engage with STEM. Each year, the festival brings top scientists and science presenters from Ireland and abroad, across Wexford city and county!

DO Not miss ANY EVENT!

This year 2023 theme is “Human”. Events explore what it means to be human and will include the science of extreme sports, AI, wearable technologies and the future of our planet, DNA – the molecule of life, and more with a Science Book Club running in libraries across Wexford all month.

The festival will work with many community groups across the county, bringing Science to new places and new audiences. Events for adults will focus on hot topics in science, and our partners Wexford Science Café will debate and discuss current issues facing our world! After-school events will bring science out of the classroom and into new and exciting spaces such as the National Opera House.

This regional festival is coordinated by CALMAST alongside Wexford County Council Library Service and Community Development Department in partnership with South East Technological University Wexford campus, the Environmental Protection Agency, Wexford Local Development Agency, National opera House, Wexford Science Café and local industry. The national festival is supported by the Science Foundation Ireland.
