The South – East Science Festival has been coordinated by Calmast, STEM engagement centre based in Waterford Institute of Technology since 1999!

Attracting over 20,000 participants in 2019 and now in its 21st year, the festival celebrates the wide and wonderful world of science and its impact on our everyday life.

Moving online this year, delve into The Science of Happiness, explore Covid-19 Mathematical Modelling, leap into the natural world around you with Biodiversity and Geology Field Trips, learn about exciting animals, learn how science is influencing the future of farming and much more!

The South – East Science festival includes a family day on Saturday November 14th featuring a cohort of online STEM shows and workshops using our STEM packs to help you get creative from the comfort of your home, making your very own Slime and much more!
