Robert Boyle Summer School
Another successful Robert Boyle Summer School has wrapped up (5th-8th June), and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who made it such a thought-provoking and memorable event.
Whether you’re a scientist, an artist, a student, or simply a seeker of ideas, Robert Boyle Summer School 2025 offered a unique space to explore where ideas come from, how they shape our world and how they might shape the future. This year theme was ‘the Brain: past, present and future’.

As well as the lectures and discussions, attendees enjoyed a varied cultural programme including a walking tour of Waterford, a visit to Blackwater Distillery (home of Boyle Gin!), a garden party in Lismore Castle Gardens and a tour of the Waterford Gallery.
The Robert Boyle Summer School is proudly organised by Calmast, SETU’s STEM Engagement Centre and Lismore Heritage Centre, with generous support from South East Technological University, Waterford City & County Council Festival Grants and Lismore Castle Arts.
