Engineers Week 2026

During Engineers Week, we were delighted to welcome students to South East Technological University campuses in Carlow and Waterford to explore the world of engineering.

Throughout the week, students took part in a wide range of hands-on workshops, talks and activities designed to showcase what engineers do and how they do it. From building circuits to exploring robotics and mechanics, attending a career event featuring engineers working across the South East, taking part in a quiz, and much more, the aim was to give students real insight into the world of an engineer.

This year, we had over 2,500 students attending events, and just as many taking part with our in-classroom activities. It was fantastic to see so many young people engaging with STEM and discovering the possibilities that engineering offers.

A huge thank you to the SETU staff and students, as well as the companies, engineers, and libraries in the region who helped to deliver activities. And of course, thank you to all the students, teachers, and schools who took part and helped make the week such a success.
