Bealtaine Living Earth Festival
🌍 Celebrating Nature and Community at the 21st Bealtaine Living Earth Festival 🌿
From 17–25 May 2025, the Bealtaine Living Earth Festival welcomed over 2,500 attendees across the sunny South East—Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Waterford, and South Tipperary — for a week of over 50 FREE events celebrating biodiversity and our natural heritage.
From school workshops to family days out, from guided nature walks to online talks, this year’s festival offered something for everyone—on land, on water, and online.
Bealtaine, the Irish word for May, marks a traditional celebration of renewal and regrowth. Today, the festival reminds us of our deep connection to the living Earth—and the responsibility we all share to protect it.

Huge thanks to our incredible partners including Waterways Ireland, John F Kennedy Arboretum, Copper Coast Geo Park, Castlecomer Discovery Park, Men’s Sheds, Marine Institute, National Learning Network, Dave’s Jungle, An Chead Tine Gallery, Lafcadio Hearn Garden, the libraries network and many more.
This festival is proudly supported by the Waterford City & County Council festivals fund and organised by CALMAST at South East Technological University.
🌿 Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s festival a success—we’re already looking forward to Bealtaine Living Earth Festival 2026!
