Tina Keating

Gemmologist

Tina is a native of Co. Waterford and a graduate of UCC. She is a goldsmith, geologist and gemmologist and is fascinated with the Earth and how it works. Her expertise and interests include rocks, minerals, fossils, gems and jewellery, earth processes, earth history, mining history, coastal processes, biodiversity, and the environment. Tina’s artistic and scientific backgrounds are a great asset to her work with the Heritage in Schools Scheme. All activities are designed with educational and fun creative elements, encouraging an inquiring mind and an artistic spirit. All fieldtrips and class visits are adapted and delivered at a level suitable for the participants.
