We've been so busy doing things, we haven't had time to tell you about them

We've been so busy doing things, we haven't had time to tell you about them and were even busier now with ESOF and Robert Boyle Festival that I can only give you a quick update -

In April we spoke about Maths Week at the amazing 10th Gathering for Gardner.

In May Eoin gave a keynote address about STEM promotion in Ireland and Sheila gave a presentation about science popularisation across Europe at an International Symposium on Science Popularisation in Shanghai. This was on the invitation of SAST - the Shanghai Association of Science and Technology - which has almost 200 member organisations representing almost 200,000 people. A truly amazing experience! Also Robert Boyle came along and did a show at the Irish Science Day at the Irish centre Shanghai.

We ran SCifest Waterford - Great Again and will have to be the subject of  a longer posting.

We coordinated 5 parallel  Engineering workshops with 120 transition year students making (and taking home) an electric motor.

We ran a brilliant Discover STEM Science and Engineering Summer Camp in June.

At present we are running a special Science Silkworm Club with the Chester Beatty Library, working on a science trail through their collection and will have people in attendance next week showing the multi-cultural history of science with handling objects.

We will be presenting a 90 minute session at ESOF tomorrow (12 Jul) in the convention centre.

We will also be running Maths in the City on Grafton Street on Friday 13 Jul. And in the convention centre on Sat. Sunday will see us down in the heritage town of Lismore for the first Robert Boyle Summer School - something we hope ill be a lasting event in celebrating that neglected part of our heritage and culture - SCIENCE!
